Why do you need a mentor?

I have found that students learn more from a "show-me" approach than a "tell-me" approach. I know I have always learned more this way than by reading a book or sitting in a classroom for 2 days.

For my entire career I've always believed in the saying, "You get out of life what you want only when you help enough others get what they want". That is so true even today. Another saying that strongly influenced my career was, "Give a man a fish and feed him for a day; teach him to fish and feed him for life."

Torn between a desire to continue investing in real estate on my own and coaching and mentoring investors eager to tap into my vast knowledge so they could build their own businesses as well, it became clear to me that while I loved real estate, my true calling was in teaching others how to succeed in the rough and tumble world of real estate investing.

Instead of a classroom setting for a few days, which barely scratches the surface of what they need, I now give my students a one-on-one, in your face, out in the field, side by side approach with me personally. A student sees first hand everything from locating and evaluating deals, to inspections, to finalizing the deal...and everything in between. Then after the initial in the field training, I give my students a full one year immersion into real estate investing - 12 months of practical hands-on.
